Envy 4527
Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

I can print using the Envy 4527 without any problem but if I try to scan using the HP Easy Scan a message pops up saying "192.168.0.14 is currently unavailable. Please check if it is turned on and connected, or try again later."

The device is connected to my computer because I can print!

If I try Image Capture it cannot see any devices.

If I go to HP Utility it connects to the device but there is no Scan Settings option.

I have just downloaded the HP Firmware Updater app but when I open it the wheel just goes round and round on the Device Discovery box.

Any suggestions??!

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you try this:

From the Applications folder delete any existing HP Scan or HP Easy Scan app.
Delete HP Scan or HP Easy Scan by moving it to trash, then empty the trash.

Ensure the latest software is installed, use this link for your printer:

macOS X : HP Easy Scan

Also, make sure that your drivers are up to date

> Click on the Apple icon, select About this Mac and then press Software Update
>Click Store on the top menu bar, click Reload Page, click Update All if any updated are available.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for your suggestions but no joy I'm afraid.

I removed the EasyScan and re-installed from your link. I checked for upgrades but as I had already done that yesterday there was nothing new to install. I opened EasyScan, clicked 'Scan' and the same message has poped up again.... "192.168.0.14 is currently unavailable. Please check if it is turned on and connected, or try again later."

If I go to the device and try to scan to a computer, my Mac does not show up as an option.

Hi,

From the Printrer's front panel, touch the wireless icon, is the IP address "192.168.0.14"?

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick check.

Can you try this:

macOS 10 12 Sierra: Adding a printer using IP address

It's different OS but believe the steps should be similar for your OS.

Let us know if that works!

Still no luck, I had tried that before to get it to print which worked. I dont understand why the Easy Scan just looks for 192.168.0.14. If I browse for scanners it doesnt see the other IP address and if I type it into the seach box at the top nothing happens.
