Mac OS X + HP PSC 1315v All-in-One: Scanning Issues

I am experiencing difficulty in attempting to scan documents onto my laptop. It just seems as though there is no communication between the printer and computer. Subsequent to pressing the "scan" button on the printer, the "on/resume" button flashes but nothing happens. Any idea why this is the case and what I can do to resolve the problem?

What OS are you using and how it the printer hooked up to the Mac?

I'm using Mac OS X, Version 10.6.4. The printer is hooked up through my external monitor (an Apple LED 24' Cinema Display). I don't having any issues with printing or copying, just in case you may have wondered.

The 10.6 drivers for your product are "print only" More information here.

So what are you implying.. That I will not be able to scan with this printer when having it hooked up to my Mac?

 

If that's the case and there currently are no drivers that support this function, will HP be coming out with any drivers in the future than may allow users the ability to scan?

At this time, it looks like print only.  I do not know of any plans to update the drivers for this product at this time.

Alright, well I appreciate the insight. I'm hoping they'll have an update out sometime before the end of the year or else I'm going to have to look into getting a new printer.
