I get multiple (two to three) alignment requests each time I change cartridge on a perfectly normal printer. I don't see why is this required and why cant one OPT out of this unnecessary waste of PAPER and INK.

 

I'm sure there could be technical reasons, but let the customer have a choice to atleast opt out and see for himself.

 

The extra paper and the extra ink comes out of my pocket and not yours. So I could bet that revenue is a big motivator and this could sort of up your revenues by a few percentage points.

 

In this world of "Print only if its necessary" it would be before soon that somebody comes and ticks you off as this big irresponsible guy who doesnt care for the environment. ASSUMING HP sells 10 million cartridges every year, that means this forced "PRINT ALIGNMENT"  costs this planet 1000 extra trees annually (at 10,000 sheets a tree). 

 

Change this or you would start loosing customers...

 

PROBABLY my next printer would not be HP.

I understand your printer is printing multiple print alignment pages when you change the cartridge.

 

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

 

Did you make any changes to your printer?

 

It's not only HP printers which print alignment pages If you buy a printer from a different vendor even that printer would print an alignment page before printing.

 

 Alignment pages are printed to ensure the highest-quality prints, the product performs an automatic alignment process when you set up the product for the first time, and when you replace the cartridges as part of normal maintenance. The product prints an alignment page during this alignment process. You must complete the full alignment process or the product continues to print an alignment page each time you turn the product on or off, or start a print job.
