My Envy 4520 printer has started emitting two short pings every 5 minutes

HP Envy 4520

I have just moved house and my Broadband speed is very slow.  My Envy 4520 Printer is working normally but has started emitting two short pings regularly every 5 minutes.  It has an adequate paper supply.  What is the meaning of these pings?

@harrywainers

A very warm welcome to the HP community. A very good day to you.

I understand that you have relocated and the broadband speed is very slow. I read that your HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer works well. However, the printer emits two short pings after every 5 minutes.

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • By pings, what do you mean? Could you elaborate a little more on what exactly is happening?
  • Is the printer asking for paper to be loaded? Or is there any other message?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue.

Hard reset on the printer:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

I hope this information helps. Please keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂
