Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

My Officejet Pro 8620 screen just shows the HP logo with a blue line. The power on/off button is lit up but when pressed, the printer won't turn off or do anything. I have unplugged from wall outlet and let sit, then plugged back in to power, the screen and on/off button light up but nothing happens.

@abrusch

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand the HP Officejet Pro 8620 won't turn off or on using the power on button,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Did you attempt to update the firmware for your printer?

Have you performed a hard reset?

While you respond to that, here's a few things you can do:

The printer does not turn on or respond when you press the Power button. There are no light indications or error messages, and there is no noise or movement from the printer.

Depending on the printer model, the power supply might include a power module inside the printer (internal), a power module that is separate from the printer (external), or a rechargeable battery if you have a mobile printer.

For steps to resolve the issue, choose your printer power supply type; Click here to choose.

Keep me posted for further assistance 😉
