HP print 61 deskjet 2540

I have tried pretty much everything to get my I pad to connect to my printer, I've printed off the information sheet and followed the instructions, I've also turned the WPS on my router off and on, I'm really at a loss what to do, but all I keep getting is 'air printer not found' I would be really grateful for any advice

Hello, @Julie008 - Hope you are well 🙂

Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

Going through your post, I understand that you are unable to connect your iPad with the Deskjet 2540 printer. Let’s try the steps listed below to try and fix this:

  1. On the printer, make sure a solid blue light is on next to the Wi-Fi Direct/HP wireless direct button  or an Wi-Fi Direct/HP wireless direct  icon displays on the control panel.

  2. Press the Wi-Fi Direct/HP wireless direct button or navigate the control panel menu settings to find and touch Wi-Fi Direct/HP wireless direct.

  3. On your Apple iOS device, tap Settings, and then tap Wi-Fi.

  4. Under the Choose a network menu, select your printer. The printer name begins with DIRECT.

If prompted, type a password. The default password is 12345678.

Now, try and print as suggested below:

  1. Open the document, photo, email, or webpage you want to print, and then tap the Action icon  or  to display menu options.

  2. Tap Print or the Print icon , depending on the type of file you want to print.

  3. On the Printer Options menu, tap Select Printer, and then select your printer from the list.

That should do the trick, let me know the outcome!

Good luck 🙂
