My Laserjet Pro MFP MFP M225dw is stuck at the initialising stage.  I have already tried disconnecting and reconnecting power to the router, Imac and printer, and checked all connections

Hi @MCG3,

Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for the First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

As I understand that the HP Laser-jet Pro MFP Midway is stuck on initializing screen. Don't worry, though, as I few recommendations which should help to resolve the issue,

Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Perform a Hard reset on the printer.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Now check if everything works.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to check for the latest firmware update for your printer, using this link.

If the issue persists, I would suggest you would need to perform an Advanced reset on the Printer. I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer.

Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile,

Next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Please reply back on the public post as this Private message box is not monitored.

I hope this helps resolve this issue completely,

I have tried the measures you have recommended, including the system reset, but the printer still gets stuck at the Initialising stage.  Please can you assist me with further fixes?

Hello, @MCG3

Thanks for the reply! I understand that you were interacting with @Jeet_singh. He is out of the office today, but I will be glad to assist you 🙂

Going through your post, you have now performed a firmware update, and a factory reset on the printer, but the issue still persists. This looks like a hardware issue and I would suggest you contact the HP phone support for further assistance.

You can visit http://www.support.hp.com/contact-hp and fill in your product details to get the tech support number.

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

If you have any troubles, let me know and I will do my best to help!

Good luck 🙂
