Are you then saying that the replacement printer worked fine? No more loss of connection?

Hi,

Per this post, it works for the user:

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Software-and-Drivers/Computer-says-printer-is-offline-and-will-...

Basically Win 10 uses the WSD port which may cause issues to some printers but the TCP/IP port resolves most of the issues caused by WSD port.

Hope that helps in your case.

Thanks you for your suggestion greenturtle, I tried it yesterday with no success.

The printer screen shows the IP as: 192.168.100.108 and the blue light is solid. However when I enter the IP into the TCP/IP window and the wizard starts it says it can't find the printer. When I go into the router page it shows the printer connected to the above IP.

Even more frustrating, when I run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, it finds the printer, with the IP listed, and status of software installed....  I select it and click Connect...  it comes back that it can't connect to the printer. and to check IP, make sure it's on, blah blah blah...

I don't understand how the diagnostic HP Doctor can find it on the network, but it will NOT connect. I am strongly suspecting a Win10 issue of some sort!
