HP Photosmart 7520 all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My black ink cartridge has stopped working so the printer won't print anything that needs black which is most things.  I have installed a new Black HP 364 XL cartridge and have aligned the cartridges, cleaned the cartridge heads, manually cleaned the cartridge and its head to no avail.  Please can anyone help.  It did not give a low ink warning.  I am worried that it is something more serious than just a cartridge problem

@CB63

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer. I read that the printer does not print in black color. You have installed new black cartridge and performed the alignment process. You have cleaned the cartridges, printhead and the issue persists. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did the printer stop printing in black even before the new black cartridge was installed?

I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

NOTE: Please skip the steps which you have already performed.

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

Please check if you have performed steps (Step 4 and Step 😎 exactly as shown in this link

If the issue persists then it indicates that the printhead may be defective and you might need to reach out to our HP phone support to explore the hardware service options for your HP printer.

I hope this information helps. Let me know. All the best! 🙂
