My c4780 prints text fine in Best mode but has streaks in all other modes

My printer has worked fine for a long time.  Suddenly, I can only get decent printouts of text with the Best mode which, I assume, wastes expensive ink when printing non-critical documents. The Print Quality Diagnostic Report looks beautiful. I have done everything that websites suggest:  using HP catridges, cleaning the cartridges, aligning, etc. When the problem first started, the ink levels were high. I've even reinstalled the software several times. How do I fix these horizontal streaks for Draft mode?

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out.

I understand that you are unable to print documents properly in draft mode.

 

Don't worry as I have a few steps that should help fix this issue.

 

I suggest that you print in normal mode instead of draft mode.

 

Also, if you are printing only text documents in black, then you can set the printer in the grayscale mode wherein it will use only black ink.

Thank you for youro reply, but I have already done everything in the article http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Photosmart-C4700-All-in-One-Printer-series/3794613/model/3794....  I also don't want to print in normal mode, I want to print in draft mode. I can print properly from my windows computer, but not from my Mac. I have tried reinstalling the driver several times, but I still have horizontal lines. This is very frustrating as it worked several weeks ago.

This issue could occur if the firmware is not updated.
