When it comes to computers and printers etc I am a complete novice. However I always do my best to solve my own problems.
Trial and Error is my philosophy lol! I have always remembered what my I.T. teacher told me - It can't bite you!
So with thast thought in mind what I do is press all sorts of keys in order to find ut what they can do for me.
I had this problem also whereas my computer was off line. What I did was press print - this will then take you onto the print menu. I held my cursor over the name of my printer , in my case HP Photosmart c310, then I pressed right click. It stated offline, so I placed my cursor over the offline and right clicked again and Walla! my printer was printing gain!
I hope this helps.

I uninstalled the printer and installed the drivers again. I am still not getting the printer to show up on the computer, I have entered the IP address as well and still unable to find the printer. Any suggestions!

I had the same problem for a while with Brother 4070 cdw laser printer.
I had one pc and more than one laptop that are connected to a home network thru router.
I added the printer to the network and everything was working fine for more than a year.
Suddenly, the printer showed as offline from the PC.
I tried most of the solutions out there in the forums but the most succesful one was:
Download new utilities from brother printer website.
One utility in particular named as Netool resolved the issue and created a new port that is supported by the printer (Binary port)
Now my printer is working and everyone is happy
