Hi.  My printer will not copy. It says copying, until I shut it down.  I have unplugged it, shut it down are restarted it, and it accepts printing requests from my pc but will not simply copy.  An error cannot be detected from print and scan doctor and it finds nothing when troubleshooting when I directly try to troubleshoot it.  Thank you in advance!

Hey there! @jess74, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand you have issues copying from your printer, your printer says copying until it is powered off.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Please try the steps recommended below.

Turning the printer off, and then on again might resolve an Alignment failed error message.
Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
   NOTE:
HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

If the issue still persists please update the printer firmware and check if it helps.

Please update the printer firmware using this link.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Take Care! 🙂
