Laser Jet Pro MFP M127fn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is a never before used product. Everything is set-up; I can scan, copy, and print from the computer. I have plugged a phone line into the top phone port, but it says no dial tone when I attempt to fax. I unplugged the phone cord and plugged it into a phone and it has dial tone.

We use Comcast, and they sais it is a normal phone line, and everything is working properly on their end.

There is also a "Supply Memory Warning", but I believe that is unrelated.

Thanks

Hello, @j2green – Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Forums! I’d like to help you with the printer issue!

I understand that you are having while sending a fax. Are you using the fax cable supplied by HP to connect the printer to the telephone jack? Also, what type of connection is this? Is it regular phone line or DSL? Reply with the details.

Alternatively, let’s first try to run a fax test. Here are the steps:

  1. On the printer control panel, press the Power button to turn on the printer.

  2. Press the Setup button ().

  3. Press the Right Arrow () to scroll to Service, and then press the OK button ().

  4. Press the Right Arrow to scroll to Run fax test, and then press the OK button. The printer prints a fax test report.

  5. Check the fax settings listed in the report to make sure that the settings are correct. A blank or incorrect fax setting can cause problems faxing.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Good luck 🙂
