Hi, is the printer connected to the PC during installation?
Can you please provide more information? Eg, what are the steps that you have taken before the error appear.

no, i am following the steps that come with the printer. the printer is set up- ink loaded and language selected. on windows, so i have not plugged it in via usb to the computer yet. i have now downloaded the driver, and tried installing it

can you reffer me to a 3rd party driver for this device? or is this an easy fix? i found it strange their is no error code, maybe it was not in the error text but somewhere else, i dont know. "cannot install the device at this time" reboot and try again or visit customer service. is their a customer service phone number for HP printers? or should i just exchange it for a comparable brand with different driver software

Hi, can u follow the steps that comes with the printer, include using the CD in the box. Do connect the printer to PC, otherwise PC cannot find the printer.
I do not recommend using a 3rd party driver, u are unable to enjoy the feature of the print driver and print quality may be compromised.

is the driver on the CD not OJ4620_Basicx86_1315.exe ? I do not currently have a working CD drive...lol i know.

does HP have any drivers that work for OJ4620 on Win XP Pro?
do you have a phone number at hewlett packard?
do you have anyone employed for customer service?
does it normally take a week to install a HP printer?
how do you feel about Cannon printers, and their driver software?

Hi, OJ4620_Basicx86_1315.exe is the basic driver package for OJ4620. This package should work. Please try again using this package using the following steps:
1. Connect the printer to the PC and power up the printer
2. Run OJ4620_Basicx86_1315.exe
