Odd colour balance

HP Recommended
Envy 5544
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I was given this printer about 8 months ago and it's been working like a dream since. Although, one issue I have noticed is the colour balance seems to be slowly slipping. Originally the colours were coming out perfectly but now all my images appear to have a red/purple tint which is making my work look very odd. I've tried replacing the ink and yet this issue continues. I've just bought photo paper for it but don't want to waste it on printing oddly coloured images. Is there any way to manually change the colour balance on the printer?

Thank you

Hello, @abshix – Hope you are well 🙂

Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

I understand that you are having trouble while printing color on your Envy printer. To assist you with this issue, I need to know whether the printer can make a "Photocopy" or not.

Place a color document face down on the scanner glass and press the color copy option on the printer control panel. Let me know if it makes a good copy or not.

If the copy also comes out bad, then try the steps listed here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04727119

Start with step 9.

If the copy is fine, then the printer hardware is good. The issue could be with the printer drivers. I’d suggest you uninstall and reinstall the drivers to fix the issue.

  • Unplug the USB cable from the printer and computer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Envy printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now click on http://hp.care/2rnDIuX to download and install the printer drivers.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!

Good luck 🙂
