HP Office Jet Pro 7740
Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks

Good morning,

We are seeing EXTREME image sharpening  when scanning from our OJP 7740.

We have used Image Capture, Preview, Printer & Scanner and the current version of HP Easy Scan and each application yeilds the same results.

Is it possible in any way, shape or form to disable the sharpening?

Help please.

Reinstalled the printer drivers. Test scanning with Image Capture, Preview and HP Easy Scan all with different settings and resolutions.

Scans are still getting over sharpened.

Thank you for replying with this overwhelming and detailed response 😉

I appreciate your time and efforts,

Perhaps, you could try using the copier without the computer, just the printer as a stand alone and check if the quality is any better,

This would help us identify if this is a software or a hardware issue.

I also recommend you upgrade the firmware of your printer using the HP Official website: Click here to download.

If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

Followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" from the drop-down menu on the upper right corner,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum.  Have a great day!
