OfficeJet 8500 ejects multiple blank pages with printed sheet

I am experienceing two intermittent issues. I have the most updated drive software installed and these issues have only recently begun.  I am using HP paper, and recently my OfficeJet Pro 8500 intermittently

1.  spits out 2-3 blank pages inbetween each printed page, and also,

2. 'drags' multiple sheets through the printer when printing a sheet.  

Can someone suggest how to correct either or both please?
