I just tried again.  In MS Publisher using the same newsletter and Excel file, I removed much of the print and shrank the rest to make a test page which would waste less ink.  Then I printed records 200 to 260 two sided.

 

It got to 233, with perfect results, then completed the series with 27 perfect 2 sided blank pages.

 

Can anyone guess if this is a printer problem, such as as defect in the internal memory of the printer, or a problem with Windows 10 or Publisher?

The purpose of printing to a PDF is to save on paper & ink while being able to check the results.

Is the firmware on the 8600 up to date? (1545A is the latest)

Have you tried printing to 50 people at time?

I have now repeated the above on an HP OfficeJet Pro 8710.  It printed all the records from 200 to 260 with no problem.

 

So I think the problem is with the printer.

 

The printer Firmware is CPL1CN 1545AR.

 

"Have you tried printing to 50 people at time?"  The above experiment did that.

 

Total pages printed: 23,329

 

The printer is out of warranty.

I have tried to reinstall the firmware, but the installer says it is uptodate and will not let me reinstall it.
