OfficeJet Pro 8710 - Won't print in color

OfficeJet Pro 8710
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

I have a brand new Office Jet Pro 8710 and it won't print in color with my Mac.  Any suggestions on how to fix it?

I understand you are having printing issues on your new HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 printer. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

 

Are you able to make a Photocopy in colour?

 

Is the grayscale option selected in the printer driver?

MacBook Pro mid 2014 - 10.13.6 - I work on a lot of printers but the OfficeJetPro 8710 printer only prints in B/W.  I have read through the forum including (1) reloading the driver, (2) hard restart with printer cartridges out, (3) search through the printing screen to see how to turn on the color.  Zero. 

 

The preview is B/W for Preview but color for Word.

 

The other printer does print in color (system 10.13.3).

1. Product Name and Number (please do not post Serial Number)
• Example: HP Pavilion DV2-1209AX or HP Deskjet 3000 Printer CH393A
2. Operating System installed (if applicable)
• Example: Windows XP, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows 7 64-bit
3. Error message (if any)
• Example: ""Low disk space"" error in Windows
4. Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred
• Examples: Upgrading your Operating System or installing a new software; or installing new hardware like a printer, modem, or router.
