The photos are printing too dark.

Download, save, and then Install the Full Feature Software for your printer.

 

HP ENVY 5640 e-All-in-One Printer series

 

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in.

 

Read the following document from your printer's Troubleshooting Section:

Black Ink Not Printing and other Print Quality Issues

 

Continuing...

 

The issue might not be the printer; try adjusting the print options just before printing.

 

Assuming your monitor (screen) color and contrast are adjusted for optimal viewing, then:

Use a printing software that allows you to adjust the image settings before you print.

 

Example

 

Download, save, install, and use HP Photo Creations:

HP Photo Creations

 

Example - Print 8.5x11 inch Quick Print

 

Quick Prints > 8.5 X 11 Quick Prints > Print my own > Add Photos > Browse >

Click / Select Photo from the folder > Open >

In Section Edit > Click once or twice on the opened photo >

White box opens listing Edit Options

(Crop, Brightness/Contrast, Red Eye, AirBrush, Tint, Rotate, Remove, Premium)

Select Brightness / Contrast > adjust settings

Print > Adjust Settings and Advanced Settings >

(Under the name of your printer)

Open Printer Settings >

Verify / Adjust setup

  1. Printing ShortcutPhoto Printing (with or without borders depending on your printer model)
  2. tab Paper / QualityMedia Type HP Advanced Photo Paper (or other)
  3. Advanced> Size of Paper > Letter (8.5 x 11”)
  4. Click OK to close Printer Settings

Click Print
