please Please please can someone help us. Me and my mum have just upgraded our computers to windows 10 and now our photos are being cut off when we print. None of us had this problem before we moved to windows 10. Both of us are using HP printers but there are different, yet we both have the same problem.

Please can any one help us.

I suggest you download, install, and use HP Photo Creations

The software is intuitive (smart) and easy to use.  Select the kind of print you want and the program helps by adjusting the necessary settings.

There are videos on the website to help you with your printing projects.

The HP Photo Creations video tours are located at Getting Started with Photo Creations.

Within the program, view the videos on the Getting Started page.

There is a dedicated support staff who can help you with questions and to help when you have trouble getting the results you expect.  (Office hours are Monday-Friday, 9-6 Eastern, except major holidays.)

I am using the HP photo creations and that is still cutting the photo when it prints. I have also tried using the window viewer and printing from there, but have the same problem. It does not print what I see on the screen, the photo comes out with bits missing that have been cut off.

the printer is brand new.....,HP Envy 5546

my mum is having the exact same problem and she is using a HP photosmart

Hi Niteowl.

One thing that often helps is installing the full-feature printer drivers. Drivers are the behind-the-scenes software that handles communication between your computer and printer. On one of our printers, installing the full-feature drivers enabled borderless printing, whereas previously there was a white border on the page.

Here's a link to 5546 drivers and troubleshooting information:

If you're printing wirelessly, another thing to check is if printing improves if you connect your PC to your printer with a USB cable.

Hope this helps,

Excellent point -- After upgrade / migration to a new Operating System, previously installed printer software must be uninstalled > Restart the computer and log in > Download and install a fresh copy of the Full Feature Software > After the software is installed, one more Restart to finish the installation procedure

@niteowls23

Yellow_Arrow_Bullet_2.jpgIf the printer software was on the computer during the migration to Windows 10, you need to give it a fresh start:  Previously installed software, including that for the printer, does not survive the migration to a different Operating System.

General Procedure:

Yellow_Arrow_Bullet_2.jpg Operating System recently migrated to Windows 10 OR to re-install the printer software

  • If using a USB cable to connect the printer and computer, disconnect the cable
  • Create a Restore Point
  • Reinstall / Update your PDF Reader (Adobe Reader DC / Foxit Reader)
  • Windows 10? This works best when Updates are current - check if you are unsure
  • Update your HP Drivers (or other vendor computer) - printer software likes updated Drivers
  • Verify / Switch-on Network Discovery and Print Sharing
  • Open Printer Website Driver Support Page >
  • Download a fresh copy of the Full Feature software >
  • Remove existing Printer Software by preferred method:
    1. Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features > Right-Click on program > Uninstall
    2. Settings > Apps > Apps and Features > Left-Click on Application > Select Uninstall >
  • Shut down the computer > boot, and log in >
  • Install Full Feature Software (find in your Downloads folder > Double-Click on the file) >
  • Restart the computer and log in to finish the installation

Post a couple of screen shot images (Use Snip > save as .jpg file > upload and add to your post

How to insert an image into a post

Include information on the program, the settings, and the size of print and paper for the print job.

IMPORTANT:

To preserve your privacy, select a photo for your test that you do not mind having made public.

In other words, do NOT include pictures of your children (or parents or friends), do NOT post pictures of a private nature, nor anything else you don't want on the Internet.

Google remembers EVERYTHING.  This is a public forum; posted text and images are also public.

Remember:

An image that is too large, for example, a screenshot that includes your entire Desktop, will shrink down to the point where we cannot read it - the details will be lost.

An image that is too small results in the same problem:  we cannot read / see the details.

Images from "new" members must be vetted by the Moderators -- it can take a while before we (Experts) can view the image in the forum.  Be patient.

If the image does not convey settings, setup steps, or other details, type out the information.
