Photosmart 7510 Ink & Connection MAC OSX

Hi,

I having two major issues with my hp photosmart 7510.

1) I bought the wrong black ink catriges! I bought the 564 blank inks 7 of them actually. And i can't use them because it was the blank photo ink that empty. But that's not the problem. I need HELP, How can i print my documents , paperwork by using the non photo Blank Ink? Since i got a ton of them i might as well put them to good use, but my printer keeps on printing by using the photo black ink!

2) I have 2 Hp Photosmart connections , 1 is hp Photosmart 7510 ( DB6610) which works perfectly fine , and the other just shows up as Hp Photosmart 7510 , i cant connect to that to print and it always appears offline!

Please help me out here.

Im Using Mac OSX , Hp Photosmart 7510 e-all in one series.

Hey delebirdbird. Im assuming you only have one Photosmart printer but have two printers set up in the print menu? If the other printer (Photosmart 7510 ( DB6610) works perfectly I would go ahead and remove the unusable printer. You can do that by:

1. Clicking the Apple in the top left of the screen and selecting System preferences

2. Next open the icon "Print & Fax"

3. Here you should find the unusable printer. To delete it simply click the Delete (-) button.

Theres no reason to have two printers setup if you only have one.

As for overriding the photo black, there is no way to currently do that. The printer is going to throw a missing cartridge message if the photo black cartridge is not installed in the printer during initalization. The possible workaround by chosing a lower print quality. This may allow the printer to use the black ink and not the photo black. Here is how you can test this:

Step one: Check the print quality settings
Open a document and choose File , and then Print .
Select the Paper Type/Quality menu.
Review the following options, and then make any necessary changes:
Paper type : If one of the options matches your paper type exactly, select that option.
Quality : If you are dissatisfied with the quality of your printouts, increase the print quality. To print more quickly, decrease the print quality.

I hope this is the information you were looking for. Let me know if there is anything else I can answer for you.

Thanks,
Sean
