Solved!

Poor print quality on HP Premium Plus Photo Paper

HP Recommended
Office Jet Pro 8600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Print quality using HP Premium Plus Photo Paper is awful! I've selected the correct paper and "Highest DPI" but the results are shockingly bad. The same photo printed on ordinary paper is far superior so it seems to be the paper that's the problem. Anyone got any advice?

HP Premium Plus Photo Paper is designed for dye based printing.  The Officejet Pro 8600 series printers used pigment ink which is not compatible with the HP Premium Plus Photo Paper.

I would suggest you try the HP Advanced Photo Paper, it is more suitable for the Officejet Pro 8600.

Thanks for your quick reply Bob, I will try the HP Advanced Photo Paper as you suggest. I had no idea that there were different ink types so your quick, knowledgeable reply has probably saved me a lot of time and messing about.  Your advice is very much appreciated.
