Print not right

My printer -  a Deskjet 840C - started showing signs of needing new print cartridges so I swapped out both the black and the color cartridges. Now it will print a very poor print cleaner page, won't print an alignment page at all, and generally looks very bad. No color, white stripes through every letter. Any suggestions? I need to get this printer working again.

Print not right

Hi - A couple of things.  First, are these new HP cartridges or are they refilled?  If they are HP cartridges, try the steps in this document.  Specifically, the cleaning of the cartridge and carriage contacts typically resolves the problems having to do with the white streaks through the printout.

What happens when you try printing the alignment page?  Any response from the printer?  What OS are you using?

Hope that helps.
