I have tried searching . . . .

On the 8600 Officejet pro (N911a) there is an event log.

What do the event numbers refer to ?

e.g. 69540 and 72234

undefined

Did you install new cartridges on that day? Or print a lot, so that the ink levels are dropping (the printer could read that as Supplies information. It needs to gather info on the ink levels so that it can pop up Low on ink messages when needed)

Sorry no idea what happened at the time - the printer is at a customer

I cannot find any reference to what those events mean

Hello dmsims,

I understand you would like to know what the numbers mean in your event log in the Embedded Web Server (EWS). Although there is not an actual document to reference for these events, they are designed for professionals (IT, programers) etc. to decipher the codes. Kind of like the Windows Event Logs. The numbers could reference low ink alerts, printer offline, or damaged cartridges.

I hope you find this information helpful.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply

As a professional providing IT support (often remotely) it would be very useful to have a reference for what they all mean

Yes, I understand it would be useful. One suggestion for you is to open your Windows Event Logs and look at the timestamps and compare. That may help you, or atleast guide you in the right direction.
