Printer printing messed up
05-14-2017 11:40 AM

Hi,
My HPDeskjet 1512 printer is giving me fits.
Yesterday I tried to print out a .doc and it came out half there/half missing.
I ran the diagnostics. I even put in new ink cartridges.
Nothing has helped.
I uninstalled and then reinstalled the whole thing toay. It says everything is fine. Well, it's NOT.
While yesterdays problem seemed to be with the black text printing sporadically with no color at all.
Today I have all color and NO black at all.
ANY SUGGESTIONS??
Thanks for any help

Hello, @Shift_OH – Hope you are well 🙂
Thanks for reaching out to the HP Forums! I’d like to help!
I understand that you are having issues while printing with the Deskjet printer. Going through your post I’m not very sure whether the issue is caused by the printer hardware or the printer drivers.
To isolate the issue further, I need to know whether the printer can make a "Photocopy" or not.
Place a document face down on the scanner glass and press the copy option on the printer control panel. Let me know if it makes a good copy or not.
If the copy comes out fine, then the issue is with the printer drivers and you can try a clean install to try and fix the issue:
- First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Deskjet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
- Restart your computer.
- Now click http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL48430/al-117537-4/DJ1510_188.exe to install the software.
- Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Good luck 🙂
