Printer won't stop cancelling print job

I saw another thread about this subject, but am unable to reply, so am trying again.  I cancelled a print job on my printer and it just keeps deleting, never ends.  I tried the option given in the other thread, and now my computer will not recognize the printer - keeps telling me it isn't there (it is).  It also says in a pop up window document is open in printfilterpipelinsvc.exe.  Or at least something close to that - the file is correct, though.  So now I cannot print anything  and am getting heartily upset after having tried to handle this for over an hour now.  It started out and printed one document, then it wouldn't print anything and then would not cancel the print job.  By the way, I turned off the spooling per the instructions given, but then it would not print saying the spooler was not turned on.  Aggravation!
