HP 2130 Al in One
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The printer is printing like my images are at %50 transparency, no matter what settings I change. Ex. paper quality, print quality, color profile, etc. The cartridges are fresh.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an HP DeskJet 2130 All-in-One Printer and it prints images with 50% transparency. You have checked the print settings and looked for the paper quality, print quality, color profile, etc. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Could you make a color copy from the printer and check the results.
  • Also, try using a different paper and check the results.

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

If the printer copies fine then please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software. This is a free tool for Windows to help resolve issues with the printer drivers.

If the printer does not copy fine then manually clean the cartridges. Please refer to "step 11" from this link for detailed instructions to clean the cartridges.

NOTE: Also clean the print carriage inside the printer which holds the cartridges. There will be electrical contacts inside it where the cartridge fits in.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Please feel free to let me know how it goes. All the best! 🙂
