Another victim of the HP ENVY 5530.
The first one I got had to be returned, (can't remember why now)
and was promptly replaced by mail (nice job on that HP).
The new one printed fine until I had to get a replacement cartridge.
I decided to go with a 'genuine' HP 61XL High Yield Black, so I
absolutely wouldn't have any problems...
No such luck. It just won't print any black. The color still works fine
in single cartridge mode.
I've tried all the suggested tricks (I think). The cartridge seems
to be dried up. I even tried watering it, like the guy above.
Now what ? roll the dice on another $35 cartridge ?
Is there a quality problem with these cartridges ?
I just don't think there's a problem with the actual printer,
except that it can't really detect a problem with the
cartridge for some reason. Its out of 'warranty' now
anyway, so its close to getting trashed...
