I have tried unpluging the printer while it is on. Then unpluging the power cord from the wall.  Waiting a few minutes re installing the plug in the wall than into the printer and still no copy.  It sounds like it is printing and I even put in two new ink carthridges thinking maybe the first one was bad.  Still nothing  Help!!!

@Joyce02

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an HP Officejet 4620 e-All-in-One Printer and it is unable to copy. I read that you have connected the printer directly to the wall outlet and replaced the ink cartridges. Fabulous analysis. Spectacular diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that.

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Do you receive any error messages while trying to make a copy or scan?
  • Does the scanner bulb inside the printer glow/illuminate while trying to make a copy?
  • Have you tried to copy from the scanner glass bed and also from the ADF (Automated Document Feeder)?
  • Does the printer print from applications such as the Microsoft Word, Notepad, etc.?

Meanwhile,  I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

NOTE: If you have performed the hard reset on the printer in the below format then you may skip it.

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

Please try to make a copy and check if the scanner bulb inside the printer glows/illuminates or not. If the bulb is off then it is purely a hardware failure and my suggestion would be to reach out to our HP phone support to explore the hardware service options.

I hope this information helps. Let me know what happens. Good luck! 🙂

I did as you suggested and notthing happens.  Bulb moves across the glass and I now can't copy nor will it print from my computer.  Acts like it is printing but no ink showing on copies just blank page.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks
