Scanjet G3010 and Macbook OS X 10.9.2 - software drivers?

Hi.  I have an HP Scanjet G3010 and a Macbook that I just updated the software on.  It's running on OS X 10.9.2.  When I try to scan, I get an error message that says Sorry, scanner cannot be initialized (scanner had a lamp error).  Any ideas of why this is happening?

It has been a while since I've used the scanner on the Mac and when I tried to download the software driver I couldn't find one on the site for OS X 10.9.2.  I think it only went to 10.6.

Re: Scanjet G3010 and Macbook OS X 10.9.2 - software drivers?

Unfortunately the G3010 will not have HP Software for Mac OS 10.9 but you may get it to work using teh 10.6 and then following it up with teh 10.8 patch.  Scanjet Software Patch to Use OS X 10.6 Software and Driver on OS X 10.7 and 10.8

If the software is reporting an error then there is most likelly a lamp issue with the scanner.  Try turning off/unplugging the scanner and lift the lid.  Then turn the scanner back on.  Does the scan light come on?  DOes the light and scan head move across the scan bed and back to the home position?

If teh scanner successfully goe sthrough those motions then try a different USB port on the Macintosh and see if the issue persists.
