Scanner won't scan in colour

My photos and documents will only scan in black and white despite the settings being for colour

Hi,

Is it a new printer ? Where do you scan from. from printer software on your computer or from printer panel ? If from computer, what is its Operating system ? Have you installed printer software and drivers to your computer yet ?

It's a printer I've had for a while, the problem is more recent. I scan from the software on my computer.
Operating system is Windows 8.1. Yes software and drivers installed long ago and have been updated.

Hi,

Please check options from Scan software

(a) Double click printer icon on desktop,

(b) Click Scan a Document or Photo,

(c) Click Advanced settings,

(d) Check Color option - and

(e) Apply/Ok

Thanks, I've already tried that but to no avail.
It used to scan in colour and now just won't.
