HP 6878 Pro All in One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When Scanning using the document feeder I get a black line on the scan from top to bottom about 2 inches from the edge of the paper.  The line is solid and contuous,  When using to flat bed the scans have no lines.  Is there any maintanence on the scanner?  Item is still under warranty.  I would contact HP if I can ever find out how to do that..

Hi,

Assuming you refer to the HP Officejet Pro 6978 model please refer to the document below:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-6970-all-in-one-printer-series/8289585/model/1...

I suggest starting with Step 2: Clean the ADF rollers

If that do not help I suggest ensuring the printer is directly connected to a power socket and not through any power strips, extentions, surge protectors, etc. and try again.

If that doesn't help contact HP Support to service or replace the printer by filling the form below:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/product/HP-OfficeJet-Pro-6970-All-in-One-Printer-series/8289...

Be sure to click Change Region if you are not from the USA, once completing the form you will be provided witha  case number and the contact details.

Regards,

Shlomi
