Scanning from my HP deskjet 1512

I recently purchased a hp deskjet 1512.  It prints properly and I have never had to use the scan or copy.  However, I would like to scan a document to email, and I'm not sure how to do it and the instructions are very vague on just the set up.  Is there something easy that I am missing?

Scanning from my HP deskjet 1512

Hi ppack5,

One easy way to do this is to use Image Capture.  You can find this application in your Applications folder.

Image Capture has a "simple" view and a "detailed" view.  In the simple view you can find a pop-up menu at the bottom of the window where you specify what to do with the scan.  "Mail" is one of the options.  If you are in the detailed view, then look for the "Scan To" pop-up menu where you can also find the option for Mail.

Hope this helps,

FretnBoutNutn

Scanning from my HP deskjet 1512

Recently purchased an HP 1512 printer/scanner, copier.  I need to scan and have not scanned from this machine before.  There is no scan button.  How do I scan?

I just purchased an HP Deskjet 1512. How do I scan to email on my Toshiba laptop? I see that there are instructions for Mac computers, but I need instructions for my Toshiba laptop. Please and thank you!
