8725
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hi All,

I currently have a 6970 now which i am planning to replace due to specific need of scanning, which i cant sort out with the 6970 without using a computer. My computers are often on VPN and far from the AiO anyways hence i want to solve everything based on the stock FW functionality of the AiO.

I need to do scan jobs as described on a regular basis: multiple pages to be scanned without using a computer (or have the need to have a computer switched on in the same LAN)

an example i need to scan

5 pages A4 duplex with ADF (10 pages in a PDF)

3 pages A4 single sided with ADF  (3 pages in a PDF)

5 items which would fit on flatbed in two scan rounds only (2 pages in a PDF)

I would like to get these 15 pages

A) saved in one single PDF file

B) either on a connected USB device OR scan2email it to an email address with its embededd e-mail client?

Is the stock firmware of the 8725 (or 8730) capable of doing this?
If not, what is the missing functionality?

thanks

Hi,

Sorry no, it does not know when you finish the first document and when you start the last document therefore it will scan 10 + 6 (3 blank) and it will start a different session when you use the glass.

You have to scan 3 different sessions, one pdf file each and merge 3 files to get 15 pages.

Regards.

thanks banhien.

i was told in the shop that it has an embedded feature to batch scan jobs, but i did not find any documentation on that on the web.

if i use flatbed only for scanning, would your answer be the same (i.e. not combining ADF and flatbed)

do you happen to know if any of the SMB AiO would support this batch scan job functionality?

thanks

The HP windows software would be able to do that, my aim is to find a native hardware embedded (firmware supported) solution as it happens with Xerox for example.
I would stick to HP but I don't know which model has this functionality in the SMB segment offering
