Hi,

Got my new printer yesterday and to start with it would only scan from the scanner glass not adf. Spent over an hour on the phone to hp and it now scans through the adf. My previously hp printer allowed me to re-name each individual page i scanned - i.e - i scanned 10 pages and each page saved individually and i could rename each individual one.

The new printer is not doing this i can rename the document but i am unable to rename them seperatley. I need to be able to do tis and dont want to have to scan each page indvidually. Also it is not saving to my documents folder. If i use the HP scan from the computer it won't save as a pdf only a jpeg and i still cant save them as individual pages.

Can someone please help me - I am desperate! and I hope i have made sense!

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you try this:

HP Scan Extended

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

Watch this example on how to save file individually and to a desiginated folder.

(different printer but similar steps)

 HP Officejet Pro 8710/8720/8730/ 6960 /6970 series : Scan & save as individual PDF files

Thank You, I tried what you suggested, but i still can not rename each indivdual page, it saves all the pages with the name with each additional page having a number following.

Hi,

The video shows that there 6 individual PDF files created.  In the WIndows Explorer, can't you just rename each file to whatever name you need?

Hi,

The video shows what i want to do - but cant!  Mine do not save to 6 individuals they are only one, so i get scan, scan1, scan2 etc but all in the same document not seperately. I then have to open each pdf and rename them. Which is fine just more time comsuming than my previous hp printer.
