Product: F4580
Operating System: macOS 10.12 Sierra

Can I scan transparencies on a flat bed F4580 unit to a reasonable degree of quality. Do I need to get a unit to put the slides in?

Hi,

 

To scan slides you need a scanner which has a TMA (transparent materials adapter).  The F4580 does not have/support this accessory. In short, you can't use HP Deskjet F4580 to scan slides to get reasonable results.
