How do you set two-sided printing on an HP Officejet 4500 All in one printer from a mabook?

Are you running on mac 10.6?
click on the apple icon> about this mac

what is the specific MAC OS X version?

Get the latest software update from apple

 

click on apple icon>click on software updates, download the updates, restart computer

 

then try again

I did as you told and installed the updates. However, the update for the hp printer still didn't give me the option to choose double-sided printing. The check box is there, but I cannot check or uncheck it.

try this as well:

 

reset the printing system:

- Sys Prefs, Print & Fax or Print & Scan

- Press & hold down  (control key on keyboard) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.

WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!

- Select the plus sign to re-add it. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
