HP Envy 5530 (All-In-One)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am unable to Scan from my printer to my laptop as it doesnot recognise my new local administrator laptop profile. Only my old administrator profile is currently recognised by the printer and cannot be deleted. HP Print and Scan Dr Utility has been unable to rectify the problem.

I can however scan wirelessly from the printer to the laptop using the HP Envy 5530 Series (Network) : HP Printer Assistant and wirleless printing functions are working as well.

Do I need to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of the printer software on my laptop to get the printer to recognise and list my new local administrator profile to enable wireless scanning from the printer to the laptop? Please advise and any other suggestions are welcome.

Thank you for your assistance.

@MrFella

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand you aren't able to scan anymore,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Have you looked for a solution on related HP forum posts?

If you haven't, Here's a related HP Forums post that seems to have helped others: Click here for the steps.

If the printer works on one user profile and not the other, that's an issue you would want to contact the PC manufacturer with it's product number as it's an issue related to the computer and not the printer,

for issue related to the scan alone, check the link and also ensure the copier works as a stand alone without the use of a computer,

And Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
