Vertical lines in purple or pink when scanning

HP Recommended
Officejet3830

Hi there,

Just bought an Officejet 3830. Was really easy to set up and instal but when i scan or photocopy i get the vertical lines.  For colour scans this shows up as purple or pink with black through it.

It happens on single sheet on the large glass and also when using the document feeder for multiple pages.

I have been on the forums and followed all the advice about cleaning the glass but nothing has worked.

Is there anything else i can do to make this stop?

Many thanks

V
