Win 10 update problem, Photosmart 7520
08-28-2015 04:02 PM

Hello,
I upgraded my computer to win 10 and had a Photosmart 7520 printer. The printer did not have a driver for windows 10 so I replaced with a newer model that works with win 10. The new printer works great but I have a problem. I removed the software for the 7520, the only software for a printer is my newer printer. But when I run windows update it shows 2 drivers for the 7520 dated November 2009 and keeps trying to install them and fails. I have no idea how to remove this from windows update. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please advise.
Thank you

Hi, Good Day!,
Thank you for sharing this query in this forum.
Please try the following steps and hope this help!
- Go to Settings-> Devices-> Connected Devices
- Click on device manager link at bottom of screen.
- Open “Printers”
- Then uninstall/delete the 'Unknown device' if present.
- Then rerun Windows 10 update.
Thanks and regards,

THIS DOES NOT WORK, so can people please stop proposing it as a fix. Can HP and Windows not get together and sort this out once and for all. Maybe simply remove the update altogether, since it is clearly way out of date.
