My Hp Deskjet 2540 is scanning color documents with a yellow background but B&W scanning and copying are normal . I noticed that the Scanner lamp is emitting a yellow color instead of pure white color. Please help. Thanks

I saw your post about the issues scanning on Deskjet 2540 printer and wanted to reach out.
However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,
May I know the print quality of the color copy?

Hi Sizzlingsum_13,
Thank you for replying back.
Attached are a color and B&W scans.
Hope you would be able to find a solution please.
The scanner lamp is emitting a yellow light instead of a white light.
You would see that the scan started with a white light ( clear top part of the scan) and then gets a yellow background when the lamp emits yellow light.
Thanks,
Regards,
Sen

Thank you for replying,
I appreciate your efforts and your time,
I did some research on this situation and it looks like the yellow light represents a hardware failure,
You could attempt to connect your printer directly to the wall outlet and also perform a hard reset using the below steps (if you haven't already)
To restore the network setting on the printer, press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the
printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for 5 seconds. When you release, the defaults will be restored.
If you've done the above and yet the issue persists,
Please contact HP as this requires a hardware service.
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!
Good Luck.
