a shared laser 1200 will not install to a new windows 8 workstation

HP Recommended

added new node to LAN. it has  windows   8.   It sees the shared printer fine,  but will not install drivers....  tried to configure manually, have it search for printers (sees it), download drivers for win 8 (seems  to not have right driver on hp web site???)  arhhhhh.   printer is attached to other workstation via parallel  cable,  all  other users  including win 7  are fine.....

For this product, the recommend drivers are either the Universal Print driver or the windows update driver. Have you tried either of these drivers?

Install the driver included in Windows 8 or Windows Update
