Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

 

I can print and copy but I can't scan.  Message says "Scan could not be completed.  Make sure that the scanning software has been installed and configured on your computer.  Where do I find the software?  Thanks.

Please try this scan solution:
 
HP Scan Extended

For Windows:   ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

Make sure you install the Full Featured Software and Drivers from the HP web site.

Thanks.  I'll try that next. 

 

I did find that I can scan from:  control panel - devices and printers but not when I hit the scan button on the printer.  At least I can scan what I need right now.
