Hello sheesh55

So you have both a gmail and a Windows Live mail account? If so you need to set the gmail account to the default.

Thanks Its a HP Deskjet 2050. I found where to change email defaults in my puter controls but it still goes through Windows mail first so I have to mail it to myself THAN mail it to the recipient

Hello sheesh55

So you changed the default email client on windows? If so what email client are you trying to use? On my computer when I did Scan to Email it opened up Windows Live Mail and attached it to an email. I was then able to enter a email address, subject, and body and email it.

Yes thats what my puter does ,opens up Windows mail than I have to enter my gmail account address Is there a way to by pass Windows live Mail and just have it sent  (and scan) to the gmail account ?THX

Hello sheesh55

Unfortunately they software is designed to use the default mail client on your computer to facilitate Scan to Email. There is no way to bypass this and Scan directly to an Email address.

Ok,I said it wrong. It opens Windows Live mail but can I get it to open MY gmail account instead of Windows Live Mail ? Thx

Hello sheesh55

You should be able to sign into/add your gmail account to Windows Live Mail. If you get a popup to sign into Windows Live just exit it and on the main screen there should be an Accounts tab. There you should see an add Account (+) option. There you can add a gmail account.

Hello sheesh55

From what I can tell there are two ways to add accounts and I have taken screen shots of both ways. Adding a gmail account was easy as I didn't need any further info than address and password.
