Hi @tex10guy

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your Envy 4500. I understand you are seeing an error code, oxo2B7C2ED SM  module, on the printer when you shut down the printer. Have you noticed any other strange behaviour?

How long have you have the printer and has this symptom been an issue since you have had it?

Do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have been using a surge protector/power bar all this time and you feel it is not the cause, please connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause.   Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector

In this document you will see, ISSUE: Problems or issues may arise when an HP LaserJet series printer is connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a power strip, or a surge protector

^ This is not limited to Laserjet printers.

it would be a good idea to ensure you have the newest firmware update too; if you have a 64 bit operating system use the following link; HPCOM_HP_ENVY_4500_series_x64_000_003.exe

If you have a 32 bit OS use this link; HPCOM_HP_ENVY_4500_series_x86_000_003.exe

Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

Please let me know if this helps to resolve the issue.

Hi @Alyhooper,

I see you are getting an oxo2B7C2ED SM  module c when you shut down. Is this message appearing on the printer or on the computer, and does it appear when you shut down the printer, or the computer?

Perhaps the steps mentioned in the following post will help you: Error message 0x02b7c2ed.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

How strange. I think the best thing to do at this point is to call us. What you can do, is use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on: HP contact options - click on Get phone number

Case number and phone number appear.

I was encountering this error code after trying to update the printer. I plugged printer into another outlet and the printer updated perfectly. Very strange!!
