error 79 repating in printer hp1536

Hi @wiqar,

I see by your post that you are getting a "79 error". I would like to help you out today.

What instructions were you provided previously for this issue?

1. Power cycle the printer. (Make sure the printer is directly plugged into a wall outlet and not a Surge protector.)

2. Make sure there are no jobs in the print queue on the PC, if there is then download and run PSDR to clear the print Queue.  Print and Scan Doctor, it will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it.

(corrupted or incomplete spooled documents may cause the 79 error on the printer)

3. Disconnect the USB/Network/FAX connections on the printer. I will send you the reset for the printer in a private message. In the forum beside your handle name, just click on the envelope to view it.

4. Upgrade the firmware if possible. HP LaserJet Firmware Update Utility.

How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet)

Please let me know the outcome. If you appreciate my efforts, please click the 'Thumbs up' button below. Thank You.

error 79 repating in printer hp1536

Seems like the problem is in the fax function of the printer. Error 79 means that the product has experience a firmware error. You can try to replace the fax cable you are using or follow these steps:

- Press the power button to turn the product off.

-If a surge protector is in use, remove it. Connect the power cord directly into a
wall outlet.

 - Wait at least 30 seconds, turn the
product on, and then wait for the
product to initialize.

- If the error persists, disconnect and
then reconnect the FFCs and the
connectors on the formatter PCA.

 - If the issue persists, replace the
formatter PCA.
