Black ink will not print. I replaced expensive half full 920XL with new cartridge, still did not print any black text, all other colors were fine. Don't want to throw it away, because I up til now am a happy customer. It is possible that a new printhead unit is required and it looks easy to change by normal non-technical people like me. Please advise. I saw that alot of people were reporting this...design flaw perhaps?? Thanks. Also this form asks for Language, but there is no field to fill in. Also asks for country, but will not allow entry in field.

Where are the printheads-or how do you access the print heads?

Hi Greahanipurpose,

I understand that you're trying to access your printhead?  What printer do you have?

thank you

I cleaned the print heads and still no black print.

some one said they soaked the print head in warm water, dried it, & reused it.

Is this a good idea or should I just order a new print head?

Geahanipurpose,

I would try the printhead soak method its worth a try especially if your considering purchasing another printhead.  Some users have had success with it.  I am linking you to a helpful post below.  Let me know how it turns out.

Geahanipurpose,

Bummer :Crying: I would try calling HP and asking about the upgrade program.  The upgrade program basically allows you to get a printer at a discounted price since you already own an Hp printer.

I had this problem twice.  The first time I replaced the head and it worked 6 months. I decided not to bother anymore and I have bought a Brother printer instead.  Sorry.
