hp officejet pro 8500 will not turn on or off.

I can get the printer to print just fine using the computer, but I can't get the printer to turn on or off using the power button on the front of the machine. I can't print or scan from the printer itself at all, it appears to be totally dead. What I'm wondering is could there be a problem with the AC adapter cord that connects to the back of the printer?  The plug appears to have only two pin receptacles instead of three. I see on the back of the printer there are three pins that should plug into the cord. Seems like this has got to be the problem, anybody know for sure? Anybody know how I can contact HP and get a new cord?

Re: hp officejet pro 8500 will not turn on or off.

Try unplug the power cord and the network cable. Then plug back in the power cord first and turn on the until. Wait until the unit boots up then plug in the network cable. Hope this helps.
