I had the same problem unexpectedly. All working fine one day and then without any other changes the printer could not be found on the network. Driven to distraction and then switched on and off my airport extreme - all now works fine.

Printer has worked for years using WiFi [Netgear WPN824 v3] from  Win XP, Win 7, Win 8 [yuck] machines'

WiFi had been unsecured as I live in the country on 6.5 acres but recently, after a new neighbor moved in I am seeing suspicious activity

So, I enabled a password and enabled WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]

All the PCs and cellphone successfully accepted these settings AND the HP printer "SAYS" it is connected after I used the Wizard to enter the password.

However, no PC can see this printer now on the network.

I was going to just run an Ethernet cable to it but see their is a major design flaw that the printer must be manually exited from Sleep Mode and I don't feel like running upstairs to wake up the printer.

I knew the solution of this problem but I forgot part of it.

The problem resides in the WIFI channel bandwith of 2.4 and 5 Mhz SSIDs.

If you leave it in auto position or if you do not choose the proper fixed width for both, the printer will be seen from the Smart WIFI router but it won't communicate with PCs or tablets of the LAN.

The problem is I don't remember which values fix the problem (auto(?) on 2.4Ghz and fixed 80Mhz(?) on the 5Ghz network)

To edit these values log on and choose Wireless on the left list --> Wireless tab and then choose Edit --> Channel With  on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Networks configurations.

I hope it helps and please feed me back with correct working settings, thanks!

my HP OFFICEJET PRO 8600 PLUS when turned on will work properly for around 5 min then becomes unresponsive, the power button will not even work.

I'm seriously over this.  Everytime somebody updates software/firmware/drivers, something that used to work stops.  I'm even using HP laptops with HP printer.  I'm starting to think it's some planned obsolence strategy where people will buy new printers because it's easier than spending hours trying to troubleshoot a "product improvement".

Wow! This reset in sequence as you suggested worked!!!

Previously, I kept getting the message Printer Offline. No amount of using printer ip address worked.

Thank you for suggesting this quick fix.
